Michael Barringer is a director and creative producer specializing in ambitious, large-scale storytelling.
He currently serves as Senior Manager, Creative Content Production at Sphere Entertainment, where he co-leads the in-house production team behind campaigns and original content for the Las Vegas Sphere.
His work spans immersive film launches, global marketing campaigns, and behind-the-scenes documentaries—including Darren Aronofsky’s Postcard from Earth, The Wizard of Oz at Sphere, and the upcoming Sphere Studios film From the Edge, directed by Jimmy Chin and Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi.
He wrote and produced the award-winning short I Approve This Message, winner of the Audience Award at Dances With Films and earned official consideration at the 2025 Academy Awards.
He holds an MFA in Directing from the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema.
Directed and produced behind-the-scenes films and campaign content for Sphere’s immersive reimagining of The Wizard of Oz. Led multi-team shoots across red carpets, tech installations, and creative interviews—translating a historic property into a modern cinematic event.
Produced the viral rooftop stunt video featuring Timothée Chalamet atop the Sphere, as well as the official making-of film published by Vogue. A high-risk, high-visibility production blending live-event precision with cinematic storytelling. The stunt generated 1.1B total impressions, becoming the second most-viewed post on Chalamet’s Instagram.
Directed and led campaign production for Darren Aronofsky’s Sphere feature. Developed creative from pitch through delivery across paid media, OOH, and in-venue executions. Managed full production lifecycle, from storyboards to final color.
Directed and produced this documentary portrait series highlighting the artists behind Sphere’s Exosphere installations. Each film offers a window into the creative process of internationally recognized visual artists—blending studio interviews, observational footage, and in-progress artwork. Featured artists include Felipe Pantone, Shepard Fairey, Deekay Kwon, and Jen Stark, with additional episodes currently in production.
